S.S. ZEALANDIC (Southampton) - WW2
M.V.Zealandic was sunk on 16 January 1941 by three torpedoes fired by German submarine U-106.The ship stopped shortly after the fist torpedo, sent distress signals and continued. She then sank slowly after being hit amidships by two further torpedoes. The Germans observed how the crew abandoned ship in three lifeboats, but they were never seen again.
