Honouring the Men who gave their lives whilst serving in the Merchant Navy
and whose names are on the Australian War Memorial Commemorative Roll

S.S. MORINDA  -  WW2

The SS Morinda was a crucial  passenger/cargo ship that served the South Pacific during WWII, requisitioned by the Australian Navy for vital evacuation (Solomon Islands women/children) and supply runs (US destroyers, troops to Norfolk Island), operating under intense enemy threat, showcasing merchant navy bravery by transporting troops and ammunition despite close calls with Japanese forces, a testament to its role as a lifeline before returning to its regular service post-war.
