M.V.  MATAFELE (Hong Kong)  -  WW2

The M.V. Matafele was a small cargo and passenger vessel built in Hong Kong in 1938 that became the HMAS Matafele when commissioned into the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) during World War II. It was lost with all hands (4 Officers, 20 sailors,  13 Melanesian seaman) in the Coral Sea in June 1944.
