S.S. EMPIRE RUSKIN (South Shields)  -  WW2

The S.S. Empire Ruskin was a British merchant ship that was part of the Empire ship program during World War II. Managed by the Thompson SS Co. and owned by the Ministry of War Transport , she was lost at sea on January 18, 1943, when she sank near Gibraltar during the return journey of Convoy MKS-8.

( Mrs Ashby) and Roy (A,I.F.) Buried at a British Mediterranean port. Aged 25 years. Duty nobly done.
