S.S. FORT STIKINE (London)  -  WW2

S.S. Fort Stikine was destroyed by a fire and explosion on 14 April 1944 at Victoria Dock Bombay. She was carrying a cargo of gold, cotton and ammunition and the fire that broke out in No. 2 Hold could not be contained. The explosions that followed the fire caused massive damage killing 740 people, injuring 1,800 others and strewing wreckage over an area of 2 square miles.
