BROWN.—On the 6th November, 1918, at Sierra Leone, of influenza, Leslie, beloved and youngest son of P. Brown, Wellington (New Zealand) aged 23.

The death on the 6th inst. of Mr. Leslie Brown, youngest son of Mr. P. Brown, Wellington, of influenza, has been reported by cable from Sierra Leone, West Africa. Deceased, who was 23 years of age, was educated at Clyde-quay School, and, after serving his apprenticeship with William Cable and Company, Ltd., Kaiwarra, he joined the engineering branch of the Australian Navy. At the time of his death he was fourth engineer on a large steamer conveying troops to England. He took a great interest in athletics, and was a prominent member of the Brooklyn Harriers. - Sandra
