S.S. EMPIRE CROMWELL  -  WW2

On 28-11-1942 the un-escorted Empire Cromwell was torpedoed by U-508 and sunk about 160 miles southeast of Galeota Point, Trinidad. The Master, 20 crew and 3 gunners were lost. At 02.17 hours on 28 Nov 1942 the unescorted Empire Cromwell (Master Philip Dent) was torpedoed and sunk by U-508 about 160 miles southeast of Galeota Point, Trinidad. The master, 20 crew members and three gunners were lost. 19 crew members and six gunners were picked up two days later.
