M.V. MINNIPA - WW2
The M.V. Minnipa was a vital Adelaide Steamship Company vessel serving the Port Lincoln/Eyre Peninsula route, which continued its essential passenger and cargo services right through World War II, even navigating dangerous sea mines laid by German raiders, transporting goods, students, and teachers while becoming a beloved local fixture for its reliability in a risky time. She was a workhorse for the region, bringing supplies and people to the isolated west coast, making her an unsung hero of the Australian home front during the war years.
