S.S. ROSE SCHIAFFINO (Cardiff)  -  WW2

S.S. Schiaffino was sunk on 3 November 1941 by a torpedo fired by German submarine U-374.  She had sailed from Wabana carrying a cargo of iron ore for Cardiff and disappeared after leaving St. John's to join a convoy.  There were no Survivors.

Son of Thomas Fleming & Blanche Alice Gibson, of Largs Bay, South Australia.
