M.V. KLANG (Singapore)  -  WW2

The Klang was one of the few ships that successfully fled Singapore in February 1942 as the Japanese forces advanced. Many other vessels in the "fragile fleet" of evacuation ships were sunk by Japanese air and naval forces, resulting in heavy casualties.

SORENSEN (Andrew E. P.--A tribute to the memory of our highly esteemed Friend, who passed away suddenly, at Fremantle on November 20, 1942. Inserted by Mr and Mrs W. D. Knox and family (East Fremantle).


SORENSEN--The Friends of the late Mr Andrew Sorensen. Chief Engineer (of a ship in Port) are respectfully informed that his remains will be interred with Mililtary honours in the Australian War Graves portion of the Karrakatta Cemetery at 10.30 o'clock THIS (Monday) MORNING. The Cortege will move from the Funeral Parlour of Horace L. Green, Stirling-highway, Claremont. at 10.20 o'clock. Friends attending are requested to meet the Cortege at the entrance to the Australian War Graves portion.
